We see fuels as a primary component of societal
infrastructure – right along with roads, electricity,
sanitation, education and medicine. Whenever
communities demonstrate self-sufficiency in these
areas, they have a higher quality of living.
A fundamental principle inside of a Regenerative
Economy is having a community view “waste as
nutrient.” This allows a by-product from one area
of commerce to become a co-product and
therefore seed the next cycle of production. Much
like the leaves on a tree, go from converting
sunlight, carbon-dioxide and water to fuel, they then
become the earth’s compost for that very tree.

| For us to be successful in this enterprise we need the support of local businesses, municipalities, organizations and individuals in Ann Arbor and its larger community, to collect and transform used vegetable cooking oils and animal fats into methyl esters (a.k.a. Biodiesel). |
